This website is dedicated to the past History of Deptford. If you have any stranger than fiction stories about Deptford I would welcome your input. This may include stories of the people, the places still here or long gone, the characters, the war years, ghost stories and haunted places, ancient buildings and bygone memories, long forgotten.

Ruddigore Road or Street ? Deptford
Ruddigore Road is now the southern elbow of Sanford Street leading to the junction of Woodpecker Road and Edward Street, a little north east of New Cross Gate station
Just found this fabulous website I was born and raised in Deptford, went to Deptford Park Primary School and on to Aske's Grammar. I now live in Canada, but have fond memories of my younger days in good old Deptford George Board, Burlington CANADA
As an American who is amongst the world's biggest fans of the tenth G&S opera, I visited this road in the 1970s for no other reason than the name. Am glad to know why it no longer appears on the list of London streets.
